1. Please introduce yourself.: I go by cee but my website name is eirie.
2. How long have you been making websites?: I’ve said this on my “get to know me” page but before this one, I’ve made tries/attempts on wordpress first (in 2020) and then on rentry and not long after on carrd (both in 2023).
3. And what got you into the hobby?: this was the same period being in a pretty rough headspace that affected my hobby in digital art (and so forth). that moment I looked back into my carrd, I had written down or perhaps a mental note that I should try again one day, but this time, starting from scratch which I didn’t begin until around 2024.
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?: just brings out personality or giving “they can do whatever the hell they want as long as they’re happy/content” like the possibilities are endless :D
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?: I plan things out thoroughly from what I envision in my head--I’m trying, at least.
6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.: mentioning this the third time but my then-carrd page was windows xp-inspired--showing only one window in the center (even after clicking “next”), the accurate colors, and recreated/drew the iconic bliss wallpaper in a rush. because of browsing other carrds (looking like windows or not), though it came out very simple, I was able to do it too. time passed by, when I thought about it again, and for something more challenging and complex, I should add some of my personal preferences to my website: still windows xp-inspired (sort of), a dark mode aesthetic, and to top it off, nostalgic touches of space-themed backgrounds, other graphics, etc.
7. What's your favourite part about making websites?: I’m able to be passionate about doing something just for me and to see how far it will go.
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?: keeping myself going
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?: yes, except the “enter” page.
10. How confident are you with CSS?: quite alright
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?: I do now
12. What is your favourite HTML element?: div class
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?: copy and paste from a page, remove that it’s not needed (e.g. in style [again in that same page]), and leave the rest to me.
14. Do you know JavaScript?: not much
15. How about PHP?: nope
16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?: I’ll be sticking with what I have.
17. Are you more focused on content or design?: both?
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?: wishing on it
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?: glad they’re still keeping the spirit up at making/building this type of website. the internet back in the day (early 2000s-late 2010s, to be specific) was a very different place, after all.
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?: I double-check everything, for sure.
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?: all I could say is they’re fun to use.
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?: they duplicate at times, and there’s just too much to choose from lol.
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?: I haven’t thought much about it tbh.
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?: I think so?
25. What text editor do you use?: just brackets
26. Why do you use that one?: it’s simple to use, I’ll tell you that.
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?: on neocities
28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?: they’re almost identical to one another.
29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?: 9.7MB
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?: absolutelyy
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?: really depends on the website’s contents and goals.
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?: it’s done on purpose, as long as this is the color I’m going for.
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?: I was told it’s too early.
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?: the latter
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?: only 2
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?: whenever I feel ready or motivation strikes.
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?: same as #16
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?: you- and hobby-focused
39. Do you do web design professionally?: no sir
40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?: I’m selfish kinda... y’know, who knows lmao.
41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?: it’s crickets over there~ I don’t mind tho
42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?: I keep social media (with a mainstream status unfortunately) to a bare minimum but it’s alright/nice/it will have to do to get in touch/contact with people I know.
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?: not a plane but to be specific, a berg. and I used to use discord during my “digital art as a hobby in a fandom” phase.
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?: I do, it’s mostly dark ambient and nostalgia-kind-of-vibe ambient (as I like to describe it) and even vaporwave. compared to my usual music, it puts me in focus mode and I feel calm at the same time. artists that come to mind are opal vessel, semiquaver, and odd behavior.
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?: it’s all there
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?: they’re all connected based on my personal preferences, yeah.
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?: this is how I type :3
48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?: nope
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?: sure! but oftentimes it can get confusing.
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?: it’s a classic but perhaps autoplays can get too loud even if the volume on our end is at normal.
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?: entering responsive design mode made my website compatible with mobile.
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?: no. and I shouldn’t be as I’m learning something new to my knowledge while doing this.
53. Do you consider different browsers?: maybe not
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.: on a safari because there’s no chrome in sight.
55. And what OS are you on?: I can no longer update the OS so I’m stuck with monterey (which concerns me a bit).
56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?: it’s what I have.
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?: I guess so, stll.

59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?: I’ve joined a few, so far.
60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?: idk yet
61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?: yeah kindaa
62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?: I’m happy with how my website turned out atm.
63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?: to some degree - like a few assets in here and here *food* are photos taken and edited by me. and this very font is done by me as well.
64. What are your favourite resource sites?: there’s just a lot I come across so I made a list on my links page to check them out ♡
65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?: pages I thought it would work, then I ended up not finishing it, unless I changed my mind.
66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?: use a beginner-friendly source code editor like brackets and/or its successor phoenix code.
67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?: not all - some need to be added for a specific page only.
68. What do you think of frameset layouts?: no opinion
69. How about table-based layouts?: no on that too.
70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?: maybe I did (if it counts)
71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?: css
72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.: will give it a try in the future.
73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?: I had to at least, or it’ll be words over and over saying what to put here later.
74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?: somewhere in the middle-ish?
75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?: yess
76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?: that’s what I like to know lol. but really, it’s all about learning how to code this or that, some motivation too, and testing my patience.
77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?: sure am
78. Thoughts on floating elements?: never done it before.
79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?: px all the way!
80. Do you have a favourite font?: as much as I like my custom font, I still choose the retro-looking orange kid.
81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?: the answer is I’m a lone wolf.
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?: I wish. there’s more to discover, it's hard to keep up almost.
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?: so used to list them down on my notes (app), I’ll take it into consideration. as for if ever someone bookmarked mine, I might die.
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?: the way I channel my energy and effort as I possibly can into making it and to just explore around, something like that.
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?: collecting CDs of my favorite music would be cool.
86. How often and for how long are you online?: it appears the line’s being crossed.
87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?: you’re looking at it.
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?: no sir
89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?: also no
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?: third no in a row
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?: I do, but everytime I edit my home page on the--well--editor, myself is being counted (damn). I could’ve sworn I fixed that but maybe not.
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?: nope
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?: straight to the editor.
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?: man, I don’t remember.
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?: my attempt on wordpress (see #2) was a bit rushed honestly. and thus, it had to be done.
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?: as long as I want to let it stay there.
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?: I already revealed a good amount which is good enough for me.
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?: likely a professional one. not that we’re the best of online friends but we’ve talked frequently back then.
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?: only some by resizing them (also tried dithering too).
